Maldives
The gorgeous islands of Maldives are so beautiful that they will make you take a deep breath and stop to take it all in – blindingly white soft sand; clear blue skies and at night, thousands upon thousands of stars; ocean water so warm that you will never want to leave it; palm trees gently rustling in the kind breeze. And after you recover a bit, jump into the blue and dive some of the most exciting dives of your life! Don’t delay your trip; these little islands are just few feet above the sea level and in danger of disappearing with global warming.
The best way to explore the large archipelago is by a liveaboard. Maldives’ coral reefs are teeming with flora and fauna, and the many channels between the islands offer thrilling current dives and lots of big fish action. The island chain is known for its clean fish – you can find cleaning stations everywhere, fully staffed with shrimp and wrasse and packed with clients such as mantas, groupers, snappers, eels, parrotfish, giant napoleon wrasse and more. Whale sharks can be seen year-around but you are most likely to encounter them April-May and October-November.
