The Maverick
The Maverick is the Maldives first Surf and Dive lodge (although you will have a great time if you do neither!). The resort has 25 very spacious and private tents which sit beautifully on our private beach, surrounded by lush vegetation. The island Mundoo is an inhabited island but has only 167 inhabitants, so they are all our friends and welcome telling our guests about their lives as island dwellers. Within swimming distance of The Maverick are a Manta Ray cleaning station, a Grouper egg laying site, a deep coral channel, and two of the Maldives most famous surf breaks; Sarongs & Machines. Stay and Relax
Only 25 air-conditioned tents, connected to indoor/outdoor bathrooms, sitting in greenery on a white powdered sand beach with a stunning house reef.
Each tent is big enough for four and incredibly spacious for a couple. The tents are beautifully positioned to take advantage of nature and provide privacy. Furnishings are “expedition chic” with a touch of colour. Everything is quality with luxurious cotton linens and towels and king size beds. Everything is here for the most comfortable of stays.

Water sports and snorkeling
Kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding around the island are all free of charge. The Maverick is located on a channel with reefs on both sides, with an abundance of sea life to see while snorkeling.
Surfing
The Maverick is within paddling distance of one of the Maldives top surf breaks: Sarongs. It is also within 10 minutes by boat of many other surf points - we have a speed boat and a dhoni to make sure you can get to the best swells! The camp is one of the best places to stay for a luxury surf break. The surf guides know where and when to catch the best waves, and our surf breaks are never crowded.
Diving
Laamu is a diving paradise. You are sure to see manta rays, reef sharks, turtles, reef fish, and of course beautiful and colorful corals. As Laamu has very few hotels, the dive spots are little used and never crowded.
Private Island Wildnerness
We have three private islands! Imagine having your own island for the day, or for the really adventurous, a night of wilderness camping. We will provide you with everything you need for your experience and it is only 20 minutes away by speed boat. You can feel like Richard Branson or Robinson Crusoe, an experience that few will have had!
Fishing with the locals
Line fishing at dawn or dusk with local fisherman who know where the reef fish are biting. We can arrange to grill your catch of the day.
Local cookery school
Learn to cook Maldivian food with a local family in their kitchen. It's an experience you will not forget, and will impress your future dinner party guests.
