Bathala Island Resort

Located on the North Ari Atoll, Bathala Island Resort has been a legendary island for divers and snorkelers for over 25 years. This simple, but comfortable 3-star island resort has just 46 bungalows. Set among the white sand and verdant foliage, these villas can vary slightly in size but each villa faces the beach. They have basic amenities, a mini-bar, air-conditioning, showers with hot and cold water, and ceiling fans.

The Main Restaurant is a charming coconut-thatched building located on the southern side of the island. You can run your toes through the sand of the traditional Maldivian sandy floor as you enjoy your meal. At the Main Restaurant, you can discover a range of tasty international buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The team of skillful and friendly chefs man the live cooking stations and are ready to whip up a dish tailored to your personal taste such as fresh pasta sauces or breakfast eggs just the way you like them. The Main Bar is the perfect place to hang out after a day of water adventure or to hop on the WiFi.

The glorious house reef is a treasure-trove of wonders. Each time you dive it from any one of the six access points you’ll see something new, from sleeping nurse sharks hiding in a cave to a tiny and intricately detailed nudibranch resting on a rock. Shoals of reef fish of every color of the rainbow create a technicolor spectacle, moray eels proudly peer out from holes and grey reef sharks cruise around the stunning coral reef. Some guests stay for one week and find enough to thrill them on the house reef alone.

The Werner Lau Dive Centre is fully-equipped with a range of modern equipment and we provide daily diving excursions including half-day and full-day trips. The team of welcoming dive staff are multilingual and highly professional.  

From the international airport on Male, it takes mere 20 minutes by a scenic seaplane to reach this island or 75 minutes by speedboat.
