Diving!
Gangga Divers, already well established at Gangga Island Resort & Spa, Manado, North Sulawesi, operates the PADI Five Star Dive Resort where the highest international standards of diving safety, and personal service are upheld. The dive center is perfectly located to reach the best dive sites in Bali, including Candidasa's, Gili Tepekong, Tulamben's Liberty Wreck, as well as sites off Padang Bai and Nusa Penida. One of Bali's greatest charms is its wide range and variety of dive sites. You can dive in Bali on a steel shipwreck, over sand slopes, off vertical drop-offs, along deep coral covered ridges, in roaring currents, with manta rays, sharks or small nudibranches in many colours. In short, there's diving for all.
Some Dive Sites:
Padang Bai & Amuk Bay
Amuk Bay, with the villages of Padang Bai in the south and Candidasa in the north, is about 6 kilometres across. Close to Candidasa there are two larger islands, Tepekong and Biaha, as well as an area with small rocks called Mimpang or Batu Tiga. The diving in this area is astonishingly rich.
Tulamben
Tulamben, which is around 1.5 hours from Candidasa and is famous for the Liberty Wreck dive site. There are also many other sites close to the shipwreck.
Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan
These islands are around 30 minutes by boat from Candidasa. Many divers and snorkelers visit these islands for the chance to see manta rays as well as reef sharks and nudibranchs.
Snorkeling and Fishing
Snorkels, masks and fins are available for hire while joining our organized snorkeling trips. Alternatively, you could enjoy a fishing excursion in a traditional Balinese fishing boat, and ask our cooks to prepare your catch-of-the-day to your own taste.
Trekking
East Bali is renowned for its spectacular beauty and the traditional lifestyle of its people. One of the best ways to discover this is by walking through the countryside and observing firsthand the life of the local families as they go about their daily activities. A good physical condition is advised for guests to truly enjoy this excursion.
Rafting
The spirit of adventure begins up in the hills around sacred Mount Agung. Here the untouched forest and emerald green paddies feed water into the valley that channels the Telaga Waja River into a gushing river heading for the coast. Flowing from the sacred mountain, the waters of the Telaga Waja are holy to the Balinese. During the trip you will travel 14km along the river and descend over 200 meters down the mountainside - fast, furious fun.
Spa & Yoga
At the pool-side massage gazebo, with the relaxing ocean sound and gentle breeze, the therapists will share their secret to wellbeing with you. Each therapist uses her own unique style representing techniques passed down from grandmother, to mother, to daughter. These therapies use firm, soothing and stretching movements guaranteed to relax the muscles and the mind. Yoga classes are offered daily.
