La Ferme / Pousada de Georges boasts a location that excites intrepid explorers and urban escapists alike. The property is right next to a sprawling 1,500-square-kilometer area of dunes that earned its status as a national park.
Shaded by cashew trees, the swimming pool is the perfect spot to unwind, cool down and enjoy a fresh caipirinha from the bar. The goodness of nature is at the heart of the La Ferme de Georges’ concept. The restaurant is dedicated to serving fresh Brazilian cuisine that has been sourced from the property’s organic gardens.
Built on a hilly 2 acres, the white-walled lodges were created from local wood, brick, and palha. All the lodges are equipped with air conditioning and separated by wide green spaces. The freshwater lagoons and dunes also act as an expansive playground for swimmers, sunbathers, and explorers, as well as being an ideal location for kite surfers thanks to optimal wind levels and flat waters.
Kite Boarding, Kite Surfing, Stand-up Paddle
With constant wind and numerous lagoons, Atins is an ideal spot for kite surfing. Whether you’re a complete beginner or seasoned expert, we offer individual tutoring providing all equipment and IKO-certification. We advise three days if you want to maximize your progress and we recommend booking lessons in advance, informing us of your skill level.
Trekking and Horseback Riding
Discover the Lençóis Park from Atins on foot, riding horseback or by 4×4. We’ll adapt your program based on the water level of the Lagoons for trips of half a day to three days. The three-day trek on foot through Queimada dos Britos until Santo Amaro will be a pinnacle of your visit. You’ll stay overnight at native houses in oases, but be advised that a 70km walk in the sand requires some preparation!
Fauna and Flora
Lovers of fauna and flora will be more than happy with the presence of numerous bird species in Atins and it’s region including the famous red ibis or Guara. They feed exclusively on red crabs, hence their color. This trip by boat on the river and the dune takes about two hours and can be organized on the same day.
Plantations
The farm pousada requires labor at all times and we’d be happy to share these moments with you and your children in the plantations. According to the day and season, you can help Osmar plant rice, prepare the soil, pick vegetables or simply help us to water the plants or pick up eggs. Let’s talk about it in Atins around a cocktail, but be warned, your day starts at 6 am, the time Osmar rejoins his plantations!
