Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge

Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is named for Clayoquot Sound, a vast, 62-mile (100km) wide inlet of the Pacific Ocean on Vancouver Island’s wild west coast. The sound is made up of a series of remote inlets, private bays and small islands fed by fresh flowing rivers and surrounded by towering mountains and pristine, old-growth forest. Guided by time and nature alone, the coastal ecosystem has evolved freely and now plays host to thousands of species of flora and fauna. Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is set on the Bedwell River, right on the doorstep of this pure wilderness and rewards guests with exclusive access to one of nature’s most astonishing amphitheatres.

Gloriously remote and set in one of Canada’s wildest and most astounding natural environments, Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is British Columbia’s celebrated luxury outpost, coming complete with white canvas safari tents and a central guest outpost with restaurant, bar, rooftop deck and cedar hot tubs on the banks of the sound. It’s a grown-up summer camp, a step away from time where guests are treated to exclusive, privileged access to nature’s playground. Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is open seasonally during the warmer months from May to September.

Glamping Tents
Twenty-five luxurious Canadian safari tents line the banks of the magnificent Clayoquot Sound and are set among the region’s old–growth rainforest. The traditional white canvas tents are styled with contemporary finishes with generous appointments and pared back, refined luxury. Specially commissioned furnishings from local designers as well as First Nations artworks combine with end-of-the-bed views of the pristine wilderness create an unforgettable encounter with the magnificence of Vancouver Island. Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge welcomes children aged six years and over.

The open-plan lounge offers a comfortable sofa and occasional chairs and cosy cast iron heated stove. Step outside to a verandah with traditional Adirondack chairs made for relaxing with a book and drinking in the view.
