Nestled amidst the untamed beauty of Gorgongosa National Park lies Chicari Camp, an oasis for adventurers seeking an authentic wilderness experience. Surrounded by lush foliage and teeming with diverse wildlife, this camp offers a retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Formerly known as Gorongosa Wild Camp, the newly built Chicari Camp is a high-spec, low-impact seasonal safari camp that immerses guests in the untamed beauty of Gorongosa National Park. Named after the traditional clay drinking pot, chicari, the camp overlooks a wildlife-rich pan that holds water year-round. Surrounded by fever trees and woodlands, this serene location offers stunning views of the park’s natural wonders.

Chicari Camp features eight en-suite safari tents and two en-suite Treehide Tents, blending contemporary design with comfort. The two Treehide Tents, located at the base of a wooden treehide, share an outdoor deck and are exclusively allocated to a single booking, ideal for two couples or a family traveling together.
Each tent boasts a private deck overlooking the pan, providing front-row seats to the mesmerizing ebb and flow of wildlife and birds as they drink, feed, and wallow.

During the day, guests can explore the wonders of Gorgongosa National Park on guided hikes or game drives, led by experienced local guides who share their intimate knowledge of the area's flora and fauna. From majestic elephants to elusive leopards, the park teems with wildlife, offering unforgettable encounters at every turn. As night falls, the camp comes alive with the sounds of the African bush. Guests can gather around the campfire, under a blanket of stars, to share in the magic of the wilderness. With its pristine natural beauty and immersive experiences, Gorgongosa Wild Camp is a sanctuary for those seeking adventure and tranquility in equal measure. (Gorgsafaris)
