Raja Ampat – 12 days/11 nights

Day 1: We will be waiting for you at Sorong airport to take you to the harbor where our crew will welcome you aboard Ambai. Following refreshments and a short tour and explanation about the ship, your safety on board and the plan for the trip, we will set sail in the evening and cruise through Sele Strait to reach the East of Misool.

Day 2: In East Misool you will discover 3 fantastic dive sites: No contest, Love

potion & 3 Rocks. You will enjoy the sight of rocks with vertical walls and fantastic coverage of soft corals, lots of fish with schools of platax, aggregations of nappers and bump head parrotfish. We spend the night in the hidden lagoon, a very special anchorage inside an almost closed bay surrounded by high rocks. From the boat, we can hear and see the cacatoes before the night falls. We will go with the dinghies to have a look to another lagoon located further into the rocks.

Day 3: After a short morning navigation, we reach Misool South East and start another great day of diving in the vicinity of Misool eco resort: Boo Rocks - with 2 large openings windows in the rock that completely pierce the island from the surface to 5 meters deep - Fiabacet and Fantasea. Again, expect an explosion of

colors and fish density. We then sail further south Misool to the West and overnight to Wayilbatan area. Night dive in the area.

Day 4: In Wayilbatan area we enjoy a complete diving day at 3 fantastic dive sites: Barracuda Rock, Wedding Cake and Neptune’s Sea Fan. These dive sites offer impressive range of marine diversity and topography, huge gorgonian sea fans, overhangs and caves, black forest corals, trevallies, turtles, eagle rays, pigmy seahorses and more. In the afternoon, we take time for some kayaking and paddle boarding amongst some of the most spectacular hidden lagoons in the area.

Day 5: We will navigate to Pele at the very South East of Misool area. Along the way, we will dive the famous dive site named Four Kings: 4 pinnacles each covered in more soft coral and colourful tunicates than the last. The range of colours on this site is simply amazing. We will then continue on to Pele where we will dive 2 of Peles more famous sites: Kaleidoscope and Pulau Kecil. In the evening we make our way to Blue Hole for a spectacular night dive.

Day 6: Short navigation in the early morning to dive in Fiabacet area. The 3 sites Tank Rock, Nudi Rock and Whale Rock are some of the more unforgettable dive sites of the Park. Here you will find one of the most wondrous and extensive reef systems in Raja Ampat offering an amazing range of marine diversity. Late in the afternoon we will set sail for an overnight navigation to Penemu and Fam islands.

Day 7: Early in the morning we arrive in Penemu‘s My Reef dive site, home to one of the largest population of fish in the area , very impressive, especially in brisk current. After breakfast, we dive at Melissa’s Garden, an extraordinary dive site famous for its extensive hard coral fields. In the afternoon, we have time for a short trek to admire Raja’s wonderful lagoons and landscape. We spend the evening under the stars enjoying a barbecue on a deserted beach.

Day 8: We start the day with a short navigation to Yanggefo area where find some of the most stunning dive sites in West Waigeo: Citrus Ridge, Mayhem and Way Pretty Shallow. In the right conditions you can expect some of the most high voltage diving in Raja Ampat with currents bringing massive schools of fish, barracudas, at least three species of fusiliers, trevallies, batfish, bump head parrotfish, wobbegongs and reef tip sharks. In the afternoon we make our way to Arborek in Dampier Strait where we have time to visit the local village before enjoying a night dive at the Arborek Pier.

Day 9: We start the morning with a dive at one of the most reliable Manta ray congregation spots in the Raja Ampat. After breakfast, we dive at Lalosi, a hard coral sea mount with extremely diverse fish life when the currents are running. In the afternoon, we dive at Mike's Point: during World War II, the US air forces mistaken this rock for a camouflaged Japanese ship and bombed it repeatedly. The half top side of the island is blown away but underwater the reef has come back to life in an amazing way and is now home to large concentrations of fish and other marine life.

Day 10: If the weather conditions are favorable, we trek into the jungle for an early morning bird watching adventure to find the famous Red Bird of Paradise. We follow the day's program with two dives at Mioskon and Sardine Reef. Both of them are excellent dive sites with reefs full of schooling fish, fusiliers, surgeonfish, trevallies, rainbow runners, sweetlips and bannerfish. The reefs there are also very beautiful and decorated with sea fans, soft corals and orange elephant ear sponges. We end the day with a night dive at Batu Lima.

Day 11: We save the very best for the last. During our final diving day we discover two fabulous dive sites: Blue Magic and Cape Kri. Both of these sites offer some of the largest concentrations of big fish in Raja Ampat. Large schools of trevallies, barracudas, bannerfish, sweetlips, tuna and snappers congregate on these sites. Large grey reef sharks can also be seen at Cape Kri. In the afternoon, we have

time to relax on one of Kri’s secluded beaches before sailing back to Sorong where we arrive later in the evening.

Day 12: After breakfast and the last exchange of photos and memories, the crew and Ambai will say their fond farewells and transport will be provided to the Airport or at your hotel.

It is certainly the world's most biodiverse marine region with more recorded fish, coral and mollusks species than anywhere else on the planet. Some areas boost enormous schools of fish; there are spots with large groups of manta rays, other with schools of barracudas, trevallies, bump head parrot fish, large groupers, and of course always a great variety of critters. The reefs are varied as their inhabitants, with vertical walls, seamounts, pinnacles, slopes, caves, lagoons, some more covered with hard corals and other displaying colorful soft corals. Everywhere you will find a lot of gorgonians with their resident pygmy seahorses. Everywhere you will find a profusion of colors and life.
