Bali Heritage Walks

An exclusive tour tracing the evolution of the unique culture of Bali. The mystical Pakerisan River valley to the north of Ubud was listed as a cultural heritage area by UNESCO in 2012. Explore ancient ancestral sites and holy springs dating back to 8-12th centuries.  Learn about Bali’s ancient belief systems and about the complex irrigation system known as subak – reflecting the Balinese outlook on life called Tri Hita Karana- a philosophy which maintains balance among the natural, physical and spiritual worlds. A traditional organic Balinese lunch is served while enjoying conversation with your Balinese hosts who are happy to share further insights into their culture and customs.

Arts and Crafts

The surrounding villages of Ubud are dedicated to traditional arts. Artist compounds of traditional painting can be visited in the villages of Penestanan and Pengosekan. Wood and mask-carvers are found in the village of Mas, and stone carvers are concentrated in the area of Singapadu and Batubulan.
