Thalassa 5* Padi Dive Resort

Located in North Sulawesi, Thalassa Resort is a small eco-friendly resort with a 5-star PADI Dive Center. You will feel close to nature at Thalassa with the plentiful trees, swaying palms and lush exotic gardens. The resort has a total of 22 rooms divided into 3 categories. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, private bathrooms with hot-water shower and a private terrace overlooking the sea.  The 9 stand-alone bungalows offer a spacious room with a king-size and a single bed. The bungalow services consist of a breakfast service in the room, a refrigerator/minibar, fruit basket upon arrival, coffee & tea maker facility and bathroom amenities. The 4 stand-alone wooden, local style cottages are either equipped with twin beds or double beds and also have a private terrace overlooking the sea. The cottage services consist of a minibar and bathroom amenities. Last, but not least, are the hilltop rooms in a small compound at the highest point of the resort offering stunning views over Manado and the bay. This is the perfect place for groups who like to hang together. There’s even a private BBQ in the common garden area in front of the rooms. 

The center point of the resort is the spacious restaurant area where you will find the reception area, souvenir shop, coffee corner and lounge as well as the main restaurant. It is also the perfect place to have a drink at the bar, chat with other divers or learn a particular fish that really intrigued you in one of the fish guides. For those who would like to stay in touch with home and friends via the Internet they also have free Wi-Fi service. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are created in the Barracuda Restaurant by the three local chefs, Arnold, Glen and Nor. You can have a look in the kitchen and see them in action or even join in with the cooking if you’d like to learn how to make a local dish. They make every effort to use local produce and sustainable fish.

North Sulawesi is part of the island where three large bodies of water come together--the Pacific Ocean, Sulawesi (Celebes) Sea and the Indian Ocean. Together they are an important food source for numerous species. The tidal flow and variety of underwater landscapes also contribute to the richness of this treasure under the sea. The sea around North Sulawesi can be roughly divided into five different dive areas. Together they offer over 150 different dive sites, suitable for all levels. Thalassa organizes dive trips to the most of extraordinary sites in this rich area. The house reef at Thalassa is a great place to check out the critters and get your feet wet if you haven’t been diving in a while. As there is no beach at the resort, there are 2 pools at Thalassa for taking a dip or for dive course instruction. Non-divers may join the boats to explore the marine parks as well.

On land, you may explore North Sulawesi by vehicle and guide and hiking trips to volcanoes and waterfalls. You may also visit local villages and markets.

Thalassa Resort is located at the border of Bunaken National Park, which is a 30 minutes car-drive away from the international airport and only 20 minutes from Manado city.
