Days: 1-4: Lusaka to Kafue
Wilderness Busanga Bush Camp lies on a verdant island in the heart of Kafue National Park's renowned Busanga Plains. Hidden beneath sycamore fig trees on an island in the heart of Kafue’s Busanga Plains, this intimate four-tent camp has views to the horizon of the ‘Plains of Plenty’.
As the mist rises off the drying plains in winter, sunrises and sunsets will keep you spellbound. On game drives, witness dramatic predator action and a near-infinite diversity of species. When the water is high, boat through the channels, encountering hippos, crocs, red lechwe, puku, water birds, and countless others. Predators seen here include wild dog and cheetah which are drawn to the prolific plains game
This intimate camp has just four tents set under leafy fig trees. The main area – under canvas – is a favorite space to relax, particularly at sunrise when the rising mist gradually reveals masses of lechwe and puku dotted across the floodplain. Romantic outdoor dining is set under the canopy of a majestic tree beneath a unique lantern chandelier.
Due to its remoteness and shortened tourism season, our presence in the Busanga Plains is critical for the protection of this fragile ecosystem through the support of anti-poaching operations and providing employment for many locals each and every year.

Days 4-7: to Toka Leya
Twelve kilometres north-west of Victoria Falls, in the heart of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, on the banks of the Zambezi River, Wilderness Toka Leya beckons.
Twelve spacious, en-suite safari-style suites (including three family tents), all with expansive decks, have dramatic views of the river and wildlife coming to drink there. With its soft, neutral tones, tucked into riverine forest and the river slowly flowing past, Wilderness Toka Leya feels like a sanctuary. Hippos often come up to graze; bushbuck and other antelopes are regular visitors. Limiting the footprint on this pristine area, the camp has been built around the towering trees: wooden walkways snake between the units and the common area. Off this area are an infinity pool, a sundeck for mealtime treats, and a convivial fire pit for night-time gatherings. A small gym faces the river, as does a spa offering a variety of treatments. Dining is a highlight, running from silver service to the camp’s world-renowned pizza.
Relax, rejuvenate, or pump up your adrenalin – Wilderness Toka Leya offers it all. Gasp at the majesty of the Falls, the largest curtain of falling water on Earth, or savour the rush from the many adventure activities here. Alternatively, simply wind down with a meditative yoga session on the riverbank.
Cruise along the legendary Zambezi, looking for hippos, crocs, elephants, and a dazzling array of birds. Follow guides on a rhino walk for a breathtaking encounter with this imperilled species.
