ARENAL VOLCANO AND HOT SPRINGS
The majestic Arenal Volcano is less than 30 minutes drive from Tilajari Hotel Resort. This observation and relaxation tour leaves the hotel around 4 pm, driving through tropical plantations as papaya, orange, pineapple, ornamental species and other crops. Arriving to Mirador Arenal 1968 (Tilajari family owned), the view is simply breathtaking.You will be in front of the volcano, but having on the left the lava flows of 1968 eruption and to your right the Arenal lake. This angle of triple view undoubtedly offers the visitor a unique experience so you can sit pleasantly to observe these natural monuments and with a little luck witnessing an eruption.
Later, the guide will take you to an exclusive thermal spa surrounded by forest. Here the visitor will have the opportunity to relax in these naturally medicinal waters. You will be back in the hotel around 8:30 pm, just in time to enjoy a delicious dinner in our restaurant.

PEÑAS BLANCAS SAFARI RIVER
Just 5 minutes drive from Tilajari Hotel Resort, this pleasant journey begins in an inflatable boat through the scenic Río Peñas Blancas. While you go paddling or floating downstream, our naturalist guides will show you a wide variety of trees, birds, monkeys and other wildlife.
This eco-tour, without the noise of a motor boat, is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the nature that usually coexists on the banks of rivers in San Carlos. During the tour, you will stop to share a great costarican coffee offered by a traditional farmer family living isolated from the town.
Includes: Transportation, fruits, beverages, equipment and bilingual guide. Duration: Approximately 4 hours and requires 2 people.
ZIPLINE TOUR
Tilajari, offers the option of taking a Canopy tour in the La Fortuna area and no previous experience is needed for this adventure activity. It begins with a 40-minute ride on horseback or, you can make the ascent to the forest by tractor. Then we continue with a short walk to the forest where a guide will comment on information about the existing wildlife since it is possible to see a huge variety of birds and sometimes some types of animals such as guatusas, snakes, monkeys.
The 9 platforms with interconnected cables are located in 3 different species of trees and are specially designed for observing the forest canopy. The hotel also offers an option to take the Canopy tour with a closer view of the volcano and greater adrenaline. You just have to ask the reception for details and choose your favorite.
Tour includes: transportation, guides and necessary equipment. Duration: approximately 4 hours including transportation time. Tour is operated with a minimum of 2 people.
FOREST AND HORSEBACK RIDING
The forest is located in front of the hotel property, less than 20 minutes ride by horse. There are also spacious pastures to horseback riding, so this route can be extended if client wants to. The forest area is a private nature reserve and extends over 400 hectares of rainforest. The trails are designed for easy access for its flat geography, combined with some streams and a significant variety of flora and fauna. The walk extends for over 1 hour, where naturalist guide will explain the characteristics and interaction of different species, so if with a little bit of luck there is a good chance of seeing frogs, monkeys, birds and some small mammals. Back to the hotel, the horses will be waiting at the exit of the forest again.
This is actually a 2 in 1 activity, but our clients can also ask to be taken to the forest by car in case they dont want the horses ride. The tour includes: transportation (horse or vehicle) and naturalist guide. Duration: about 2 ½ hours.
