Kuyenda Bushcamp
Set beneath shady trees by the (dry) Manzi River, Kuyenda may be the simplest of the bush camps but it embodies the authentic charm of old Africa with its cluster of six traditional thatched grass huts and back-to-nature feel.
As for the wildlife, you hardly need look for it as it will come to you. Settle down in the lounge and look out over the rippling grasses of the neighboring plain where the drama of the African wilderness is played out each day.
Kuyenda’s intimate atmosphere is only enhanced by the extraordinary couple who regularly run the camp – the ever-hospitable Babette Alfieri and Phil Berry, one of Zambia’s most experienced guides. No one knows Kuyenda like they do, and no one will make you feel more welcome.
Kuyenda Rooms
Six thatched chalets set on the edge of a grassy plain, surrounded by the seemingly out-of-place palm trees. All chalets have twin beds that can be combined to form an imperial King-size bed. Each chalet is equipped with a shower, twin wash-basins and a toilet, solar-powered hot and cold running water as well as toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, skin moisturizer) are provided. There are small fans & mosquito nets in each room.
Each chalet has a private deck, perfect for watching the game coming to the Manzi River bed in front of camp. Offering exclusive, personalized service and tranquility for no more than 12 guests this is a truly authentic African Safari camp. Kuyenda is open from June to November.
