Nicaragua's 3 Seas

Welcome to Nicaragua, surrounded in the east by the Caribbean Sea, in the west by the Pacific Ocean, and in its heart embracing Lake Nicaragua, the largest freshwater body in Central America. During this tour you'll experience life beside all three of Nicaragua's ‘seas', staying in luxury coastal resorts and island escapes, as well as visiting the capital, Managua, the colonial gem of Granada, and two of the nation's mighty volcanoes.

We've included a selection of experiences throughout the tour which bring you closer to this fascinating country, and you'll have plenty of time to unwind and enjoy Nicaragua´s 3 seas.

Day 1: Arrive Managua
Nicaragua's capital city is home to almost two million people, and is the heartbeat of the nation's culture and commerce. Managua hosts the country's main airport and is the starting point for many Nicaraguan vacations, but it's worth spending a couple of days exploring what the city has to offer, with a vibrant dining and nightlife scene, buzzing markets and impressive revolutionary landmarks. There's a selection of good quality hotels, and popular daytrips include the nearby Chocoyero-El Brujo Natural Reserve and the spectacular Masaya Volcano National Park.

Day 2: Caribbean Sea
After breakfast the first leg of your private tour takes you to the Caribbean Sea. You take the domestic flight to Bluefields, followed by a private boat transfer to the Pearl Cays, also known as Cayos de Perlas; a group of 18 cays located about 15 kilometers off the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. The Pearl Cays are covered with vegetation and are lined with white sand beaches. They are an important nesting site for turtles, including the endangered Hawksbill turtle. One of the private cays boasts a high-end resort called Calala Island, lying directly along the beach. With only 4 suites on the entire Island, complete privacy comes as standard. A staff of 25 looks after a maximum of 10 guests.

Pearl Cays is a group of 18 islands located in the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, about 35 kilometers from the small town of Laguna de Perlas. These islands are a really good option for a relaxing trip with friends or family.

Each island is 1 hour away from each other and it?s possible to visit all 18 cays by boat. All are surrounded by turquoise water, white sand beaches and palm trees. Perfect spots to spend a personalized Caribbean holiday. Some activities that can be done are sunbathing, snorkeling or simply taking a swim in the clear crystal waters.

Days 3 & 4: Pearl Keys
Calala is the first resort of its kind in the beautiful Pearl Keys - a private luxury island nestled in a remote part of Nicaragua's Caribbean Coast, with a mission to go above and beyond, and to exceed expecta
tions. The property sits on Lime Island cay, only a couple of hours by boat from Bluefields but seemingly a world away. Each one of the ocean view and beachfront suites was designed by renowned architect Matthew Falkiner, and is decorated with the finest handcrafted furniture from Nicaragua.

Delight in the Caribbean Paradise, chose between non-motorized water sport activities, Fishing in the surroundings of the Island or snorkeling to admire the unique species of our Caribbean Coast. You can also paddle to the private Little Calala Island, just 5 minutes away from the big island, where you can relax and feel the owner of the island. Besides this activities, you can also swim at the infinity pool or relax in the beach and delight with their unique fresh gastronomy offer.

Day 5: Lake Nicaragua
After breakfast the second leg of your private tour takes you to Lake Nicaragua, locally known as The Fresh Water Sea, being the biggest water body in Central America, and in Latin America only second to Lake Titicaca. Your private boat takes you back to Bluefields for your domestic flight to Managua. Upon arrival you are transferred to Granada, a colonial town located on the shores of the Fresh Water Sea. Here you take a private boat to the Las Isletas Archipelago, consisting of 360 islands of volcanic origin. One of the private islands boasts an intimate boutique ecolodge, called Jicaro Island Ecolodge, which is your temporary place of residence.

Located near to the shores of the vast Lake Nicaragua and created by a pre-historic eruption of the nearby Mombacho Volcano, Las Isletas are one of the country's most attractive natural highlights. An archipelago of 365 small islands scattered around the Asese peninsula, here you'll find a mix of tiny fishing communities, stunning private homes, and beautiful resorts and eco-lodges. The flora and fauna of the archipelago is remarkable, and best observed from a private deck, by motorboat, or by kayak slowly paddling around the islands.

Day 6: Lake Nicaragua
After breakfast with a panoramic view over the Sweet Water your captain brings you back to mainland Nicaragua where your private guide takes you on a cultural tour. You start off with a Chocolate workshop to learn about the region roots, focusing on one of the main ingredients, the cacao. In the afternoon a master blender will introduce you to the world of tobacco and cigars, visiting a local cigar factory. To top of the day you visit to the Masaya Volcano National Park (momentarily active) for a twilight tour to experience the heath, smells and views of the lava lake.

Day 7: The Pacific

The picturesque half-moon bay is ideal for swimming, and there are some lovely hotels and restaurants along the waterfront.
