Days 1-4: Liwonde, Malawi
Your safari begins in the “Warm Heart of Africa”, in Liwonde National Park, one of the continent’s greatest conservation success stories. Once heavily poached, it is now a thriving sanctuary under African Parks. Mvuu Camp is one of the highlights of this amazing park, set on the banks of the Shire River, guests can enjoy scenic boat safaris on a comfortable pontoon, gliding past majestic elephants, hippos, crocodiles and an abundance of birdlife. On land, new and well-equipped safari vehicles make game drives comfortable, with chances to see the famous Liwonde cheetah, wild dogs, lions, black rhino and the park’s thriving elephant population.

The camp’s exclusive photographic hide is a true highlight, putting you at eye level with elephants, antelope, and colorful bird species for close-up encounters found nowhere else. Days 4-6: Mumbo Island
After Liwonde’s wildlife, slow down in the Lake of Stars. Just a 40-minute boat ride from the mainland, Mumbo Island is the ultimate castaway escape with white sandy beaches, turquoise waters alive with cichlid fish and Robinson Crusoe-style chalets perched above the lake. A quick pause in Malawi’s bustling capital for a night of Crafted Africa hospitality. A restful stop to recharge before diving deeper into the wild.

Days 7-10: South Luangwa, Zambia
Known as the “Valley of the Leopard”, South Luangwa is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries, home to some of the highest leopard densities on the continent. This is also prime territory for lion prides, packs of wild dogs, hyenas and a wide variety of plains game like giraffe, zebra, kudu and puku. The park is home to the Thornicroft’s giraffe, a rare subspecies found only in South Luangwa, alongside more than 450 bird species that make it a paradise for birders.

Kafunta River Lodge is the perfect base for exploring it all. Family-owned and perched on the edge of the floodplains, the lodge combines true and warm hospitality with front-row wildlife viewing, it’s not unusual to spot elephants and giraffes wandering past camp. Between thrilling game drives and guided bush walks, you can relax and soak in the infinity pool or simply enjoy the stunning views from your deck. Days 10-14: Lower Zambezi

Days 17-19: Victoria Falls
Few natural wonders compare to Mosi-oa-Tunya - “The Smoke That Thunders”. In Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side, the world’s largest waterfall crashes into a basalt gorge, sending spray high into the rainforest and a roar that echoes for miles. Explore viewpoints, shop the craft markets or simply soak up the energy of this vibrant town. Bayete Nkosi is your peaceful retreat just minutes from the Falls. With spacious suites, warm hospitality and lush gardens, it is the perfect base to relax.
