Chamilandu Bushcamp

Just a 12 minute drive from the Petra Visitor's Centre, the Seven Wonders Luxury Camp is nestled in the beautiful landscape of Little Petra.  The camp offers you the choice of a Dome Tent or a Cabin. To feel close to nature, you usually have to pitch your tent and sleep in a sleeping bag. This extraordinary camp has made things a little easier - you can come and sleep in this cool desert landscape and still enjoy a soft bed, clean sheets, A/C, and an ensuite bathroom.

The camp will even feed you. Buffet breakfasts and dinners are served in our on-site restaurant and soft drinks, tea, coffee and shisha are available in the coffee shop.

This luxury camp is a great base for visiting the main site of Petra. Plus, it is only a 20 minute walk from the Seven Wonders Luxury Camp to the Little Petra Site. They are also close to the beginning of the Back Way Hike to the Monastery in Petra. Jeep transfers are available so that the hike is just over 1 hr or they can provide a guide and you can walk the entire way (just over 2hrs). You can also explore the area on horses or do a longer ride or hike up to Mt. Haroun.

Whether you sleep in a luxury martian dome tent or in a comfortable cabin, we are committed to excellence and providing you with a unique experience and a life-long memory. No need to stay in a hotel while you visit Petra - come and stay with us at the Seven Wonders Luxury Camp in Little Petra.

Domes
All the Domes have big bay windows and high ceilings - gives a sense of space. You can sit outside and enjoy the view from the private balcony or you can sit inside.  If you need privacy - just draw the curtains.  A/C's keep the dome at a comfortable temperature.  As well as a table for your bags, there is hanging storage and a clothes rack with coat hangers. All the beds in the Domes have a comfortable padded headboard and there are wall sockets and reading lights.  The ensuite bathroom is spacious and towels, slippers, bathrobes and toiletries are provided.

Cabins

Outside, the Cabin looks like a bedouin tent. Inside,  it is a well-appointed room with ensuite bathroom,  built-in wardrobes and a whole lot more to ensure you are comfortable. Every Cabin has A/C, reading lights, wall sockets; and a soft headboard on the bed so you can lean back against it and read in comfort.  If you want to relax inside, there are a couple of easy chairs and a small table for your drinks. Each cabin has an ensuite bathroom. Towels, bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers and toiletries are provided in every Cabin.

Petra Hike

The "Back Way" is a Nabatean pathway that enters Petra from the back (as opposed to entering Petra through the Siq or narrow canyon which is more like the "front door"). The views are out of this world.  To walk the entire way to the Monastery in Petra from camp with a guide is 45 JD.  It takes about 2.5 hrs. The Guide leaves you at the Monastery in Petra.  You can also take a local government 4x4 along the track (5 JD pp) and walk the final 1 hr.  You then take the trail out through Petra to the Visitors Centre.

Aaron is the brother of Moses and his tomb, built in the 14th century, is on the top of Mt Harun, 1350 meters above sea level. It is a 6-7 hr hike (there and back) and the Guide costs 100 JD. If you need a transfer to and from the start of the Hike in Um Sayhoun Village, then there is also a 10 JD transfer fee.

The Wadi Araba desert is at sea-level.  The drive down from the Petra basin is spectacular. We can drive you down for lunch in the desert - with tea and food prepared over a fire in the traditional manner.  The trip takes 3 hrs and is 60 JD for 2 people.
