Sayari Camp

Award-winning Sayari, renowned for close-up sightings of the Great Migration, has a brand-new look and many exciting features, including the Retreat for families/friends on safari.
Regularly voted as one of the top safari escapes, Sayari offers a superior guiding experience in this beautiful wildlife region. The camp’s latest upgrade includes a plush library and information centre which incorporates a rich cultural focus on the colorful Kuria tribe who call the northern Serengeti home. Further additions include the striking Asilia Spa offering an array of treatment options, and an innovative solar-powered micro-brewery, the first of its kind in the bush. The brewery will produce four unique beers for you to enjoy as well as producing a selection of soft drinks, purifying water, and producing sparkling water for you to enjoy as well. Sayari is renowned for remarkable style with comfortable hillside suites, and a pool flanked by natural rock formations with dramatic views of the unspoiled plains of the Serengeti.
Sayari has been carefully designed to include two mess areas, so you can always find a tranquil, intimate spot to relax and enjoy the attentive, personal service. Each has a peaceful lounge and stylish indoor and outdoor dining areas. Framed by natural rock formations, the infinity pool has impressive Serengeti views – it is the perfect spot to spend a lazy afternoon gazing out over the game-filled plains. In the evenings, retire to the warmth of the fireplace or the quiet library with a whiskey and share safari tales late into the night. After relaxing in such superb comfort in the world’s premier wildlife reserve, you’ll be rested and ready for all the adventures the next day will bring.
Sayari’s updated design draws inspiration from the colorful culture of the Kuria tribe who calls the northern Serengeti home. Each of the 15 spacious tents feature striking views of the rolling Serengeti plains. Inside the rooms, the rich copper color palette complements the patterns of the rocks studded around this landscape. In homage to another local tribe, the Maasai, cushions are decorated with delicate, traditional beadwork. Each expansive suite has a king-size bed (twin beds available) with fine linens and safari-chic decor to offset the wilderness just beyond the canvas walls. Spacious decks wrap around each room, providing uninterrupted views of the Serengeti. The bathroom boasts its own views of the land as well.
An extra-large freestanding bathtub, and both an indoor and outdoor shower allow you to take in the Serengeti’s views while soaking in the tub or enjoying a refreshing shower.
Guest tent - 2 people
The remote and starkly beautiful landscape of the Northern Serengeti inspired the design of Sayari's 15 tented suits, which are a subtle mirror of the iconic flat-topped volcanic Turner Hill to the north. Inside, the rich mahogany floors and delicate tones of sand, stone, and acacia reflect the hues and textures of the natural terrain. Each spacious suite has a king-sized bed (twin beds available) with fine linens and safari-chic decor to offset the wilderness just beyond the canvas walls. The en-suite bathrooms with walk-in shower and egg-shaped bathtub overlook the Northern Serengeti plains, as do the beautiful private verandas outside.
Honeymoon tent - 2 people
Sayari Camp has a honeymoon tent which offers guests a luxurious, and comfortable stay in the bush. The tent has been designed to provide luxury and comfort, with a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom including a flushing toilet, indoor shower, double stone hand basins, as well as a free-standing bath indoors and a second bath outdoors. Guests can also enjoy the tranquillity of the bush while relaxing on their private wooden deck where a large sofa/day bed and table and chairs are situated.
Family tent - 5 people
One of Sayari’s 15 tented suites is a spacious, two-bedroom family suite suitable for two adults and three children under the age of 16. The main bedroom is similar to that of the other tents and has all the amenities you would expect: a king-sized bed, walk-in shower, huge bathtub with stunning views of the northern Serengeti, and of course, a spacious private veranda. The main bedroom is linked to the children’s room by a raised platform complete with safety railings. This second bedroom has three single beds with access to a spacious en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The second bedroom also has a private veranda, so no one misses out on those fabulous views of the wilderness.
The Retreats
Offering a heightened level of luxury, style and privacy, they offer guests a totally flexible Serengeti safari experience, with their own safari guide and vehicle, chef and host per Retreat. These spacious 2-bedroom grand homes are perfect for families/friends seeking total privacy.
Game Drives
The expert field guides offer daily game excursions in modern, open-sided vehicles to get you up close to the myriad of wildlife species that call this wilderness home. All vehicles have power points where you can recharge your devices and are fitted with fridges to keep your drinks deliciously frosty.
Walking Safari
The thrill of experiencing the African plains on foot is immeasurable – the sights, sounds, and smells of the bush tantalise your senses and reveal one of the most intimate ways to understand and become one with nature. Walking with the wildlife of the area and getting closer means you can truly appreciate their beauty. You’ll be walking at a comfortable pace and have the time to absorb all there is to see and learn; memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Cultural Visits
Visit nearby Merenga village to learn about the Kuria tribe, their culture, traditions and way of life. You can also stop off at the community vegetable gardens, mentored and sponsored by Asilia, to collect fresh produce for your evening meal. Please note that cultural and community visits are at an additional cost.
Hot-air Ballooning
Few experiences compare with gliding serenely over the vast plains of the Serengeti in a hot-air balloon with teeming wildlife below. (at an additional cost)
Photographic safari vehicle
Calling all passionate photographers! Join us for a photographic safari experience in our specialised photography vehicles. The vehicles have drop-down sides for photographers to capture low, eye-level photographs. Beanbags, foam camera rests, power points, fridges and 360º swivel seats promise to make your wildlife photography experience a dream!
