Qamea Resort & Spa is an intimate boutique resort catering to maximum of 34 lucky travelers. This is one of the most spectacular islands of Fiji’s northern island group. Set among 100 acres or lush tropical gardens with jagged volcanic mountains that soaring behind the property, the resort faces an idyllic stretch white sand beach.
Qamea has only 17 luxuriously appointed and very private air conditioned bures with outdoor showers and some with their own private swimming pool or Jacuzzi spa. The oceanfront bures and villas have each been designed in traditional Fijian style with soaring ceilings, thatched roofs, hand polished Fijian mahogany hardwood floors and local Fijian art. The king-size beds are draped with elegant and luxurious Egyptian cotton linens and there’s separate sitting area with comfortable furniture, a mini bar and coffee/tea making facilities. The bures all have ceiling fans in addition to being fully air-conditioned. The spacious European-inspired bathrooms feature stylish fixtures, a separate toilet room and boast thick cotton towels, bathrobes and locally-produced bath products. Large open-air garden showers, encircled by river-rock walls, to shower in privacy and nature. The large covered verandahs have comfortable deck furniture along with a private hammock from which to enjoy the amazing Fijian sunsets.
At the center of Qamea Resort is the Bure Kalau, which serves as the central meeting place for guests. Here you will be served gourmet meals as well as complimentary afternoon tea with freshly baked pastries. The large covered patio that circles the dining room and bar is a great place to relax and recharge and a great place to join your fellow guests for a sunset cocktail before dinner. Dining is relaxed and a treat with unique tropical flavors of the Fiji Islands with our daily changing menus. You may also opt to dine privately in your room or have a romantic table set up on the beach.
At Qamea, you can be as busy as you’d like or hit the exquisite Guinot Spa. Activities range from stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, surfing (seasonal), world class diving, yoga, croquet, local village visits, to invigorating coastal and mountain hikes. A PADI 5 Star accredited dive shop is located on property for all your diving and snorkeling requirements. Take a picnic lunch along with you to hike to cascading jungle waterfalls or a deserted island for the day—Qamea is indeed a South Pacific treasure.
After an 80 minute scenic flight from Nadi, you will land in Taveuni where one of the resort representatives will be waiting to greet you. Your baggage will be loaded into the air conditioned transport van and you will be on your way. The drive to the jetty is around 20 minutes and will take you through the lush tropics of Taveuni Island and local villages. Once you’ve reached the landing the boat will take you 10 minutes by boat from to the resort.
