Onguma Etosha Aoba (was Onguma Forest Camp)
Onguma is situated on the eastern border of Etosha National Park in friendly Namibia. Onguma offers great game viewing, romance, tranquility, adventure and so much more. One of 5 lodgings, Onguma Etosha Aoba Lodge, offers traditional safari comfort in a 11 thatched bungalows. This is a wonderful base to explore Etosha National Park in north west Namibia, home to 4 of the Big 5.
The lodge consists of four free standing Heritage Bungalows with air-conditioning, 3 Bush Suites that each have two rooms with an inter-leading bathroom that can accommodate 4 adults. Three new Explorer Bungalows have been added and each boast privacy and seclusion. They also have a Honeymoon Bungalow that is extremely private and secluded with both an outdoor shower and bath.
On most nights dinner is served under the stars and no meal will be complete if it didn't include a tour of the well stocked wine cellar. Here, wines can be tasted and selected to compliment your meal. An ideal safari-home away from home.
Heritage Bungalow
Bungalow with thatched roof, twin beds, en-suite bathroom and an outside patio. Equipped with air con, ceiling fan, coffee/tea facilities, safe, bush-minibar and mosquito net.
Bush Suite
For families we now offer three stylishly furnished Bush Suites which include two bedrooms, one with a sleeper couch and the second with two twin beds. The interleading bathroom seperates the two rooms.
Explorer Bungalows
Aoba has three new spacious Explorer Bungalows the rooms are stylishly furnished with large twin beds. That include en-suite facilities, air-conditioning and a private patio.These Bungalows are very private.
Honeymoon Bungalow
The Honeymoon Bungalow shares the same features as the Explorer Bungalows but is more secluded and offers a romantic outdoor bath and shower.
Onkolo Hide
Onguma's fabulous new water-level hide affords guests a great opportunity to calmly sit and enjoy nature unobserved. Amateur and professional photographers alike love the angles and light from this equipped hide. There is a small ablution facility nearby, benches from which to view the surroundings and lots of windows and vantage points for creative camera angles.
Onguma Sundowner Drive
Onguma Nature Reserve consists of 34 000 hectares of Namibian wilderness & is home to numerous plains game, more than 300 bird species and even 4 of the Big 5. The Reserve boasts over thirty different animal species. Plains game roam freely on the Reserve and predators although not always easy to spot, are nevertheless common residents of the area. Lions and Cheetahs are frequently seen and often heard. There is a healthy black rhino and leopard population and hyenas are also often seen and heard.
Etosha Game Drives
Etosha is a 22 750km² wildlife sanctuary in Namibia – one of Africa’s most stable and accessible countries. Etosha, meaning ‘place of dry water’, and refers to a flat calcrete depression (or pan) of about 5 000km². The ‘Pan’ (overlooked by the Onguma Reserve) provides a great, parched, silver-white backdrop of shimmering mirages to an area of semi-arid savannah grassland and thorn scrub. The pan itself contains water only after very good rains and sometimes for only a few days each year, but is enough to stimulate the growth of a blue-green algae which lures thousands of flamingos.

The Dream Cruiser is a custom built Land Cruiser with two levels that sleeps two people. The spacious sleep-out deck features a bed and lounge area with unbeatable views. The bed offers the opportunity to either have a roof with 180-degree views, or to sleep under the vast and awe inspiring starry Namibian night skies.
The inside of the vehicle has been modified to feature a full ensuite bathroom complete with a shower, flush toilet, and basin. Guests conveniently access the ensuite bathroom from the sleep-out deck by a custom hatch with ladder leading down into the surprisingly spacious and efficient bathroom.
Guests will book this experience in conjunction with a lodge of their choice and pack an overnight bag with the essentials. After a leisurely drive through Onguma's wilderness guests will arrive at a perfectly chosen location with spectacular waterhole views where the Dream Cruiser awaits. Welcomed with sundowner drinks and a brief orientation, guests will settle in to their one of a kind accommodation.
