Nai'a

Few boats know Fiji quite like Nai’a. After decades spent exploring its reefs, passages and remote islands, she takes divers well beyond the reach of the country’s shore-based dive resorts, combining exceptional local knowledge with the freedom to explore some of Fiji’s finest and most remote diving. The boat features 8 passenger staterooms, a massive main salon, dive deck, sun deck, dedicated camera room and stern dive platform.

Nai’a has set new standards of live-aboard luxury since her launch in 1993. Purpose-built of Dutch steel to carry a few lucky divers in utmost comfort, she was completely refit in 2010 with the latest technology and generous use of space. While many of Nai’a’s innovative design features are invisible to passengers, they ensure unlimited hot showers and staterooms that are always fresh and cool. This ship provides guests with all the comforts (and more!) of a quality land-based location - but with far superior diving and a new view every day.

The core of the Nai’a family is her Fijian crew. On each trip you'll be cared for by fourteen of the friendliest and most able sailors anywhere. (emperor)

ITINERARY DESCRIPTION
Fiji is known as the Soft Coral Capital of the World – and this itinerary takes you into the heart of the diving that earned that reputation. Bligh Water and the Koro Sea stretch through central Fiji, between and around its main islands, creating a vast playground of remote reefs, pinnacles and passages.

Travellng aboard NAI’A, you’ll explore sites where nutrient-rich currents feed spectacular soft corals and an extraordinary concentration of marine life. Sites such as E6 and Mount Mutiny rise dramatically from deep water, while Namena combines colourful reefs with the possibility of bigger pelagic encounters. At E6, swim through the Cathedral as shafts of sunlight filter down from above, while the right conditions at Nigali Passage can bring an exhilarating drift alongside grey reef sharks, schooling barracuda, trevally, snapper and eagle rays. Look more closely and there’s another world to discover, from nudibranchs and pipefish to hawkfish and clouds of anthias.

Available as 7-night and extended 10-night adventures, traveling by liveaboard opens up a side of Fiji that few visitors get to experience. NAI’A can reach well beyond the range of day boats, spending the week among remote reefs where other divers can be few and far between. The longer itinerary allows us to push into the remote, seldom-visited outer reefs of the Koro Sea where get a higher frequency of encounters with hammerheads, silky sharks, manta rays, and spinner dolphin.

* Intermediate to experienced divers (30 dives within previous year is strongly recommended)
The 7-night trip is best suited to confident divers who comfortable with currents and drift diving. You will complete around 20 dives which include offshore pinnacles, walls and channels where conditions can vary. The extended 10-night trip offers around 30 dives and ventures further into the remote Koro Sea. It is suited to experienced divers comfortable with varied conditions and multiple dives, with extra time to explore more distant reefs and revisit favourite sites when conditions allow.
