Home to vibrantly colored underwater plants and a rich abundance of marine life, Glover’s Reef is part of the National Marine Reserve. It is one of the seven protected marine areas of the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. In 1993 under the Fisheries Act, the Glover’s Reef Marine Reserve was established as a protected area with five different management zones.
