Little Garonga is a luxury and private lodge boasting three individual thatched suites and ideally located on the private Makalali Private Nature Reserve, just west of the Kruger National Park. An unassuming and intimate sanctuary offering guests the opportunity for a unique wildlife encounter and to relax in an serene safari landscape.
The lodge features three well-appointed thatched suites, each with expansive full en-suite bathrooms including an indoor and outdoor shower as well as a private deck with an inviting hammock to relish in the surrounding beauty. The camp is north-facing which allows sunlight to stream in, and its prime location affords magnificent views over the reserve.
All suites are situated around a centralized indoor and outdoor lounge area, a swimming pool and a built in braai/BBQ area. The lodge also has its own host, chef, waiter and housekeeper so is totally self-contained and run separately from the Safari Camp.
Activities include game drives, wilderness walks, a unique sleep-out experience under the African sky, outdoor bush-baths as well as aromatherapy and reflexology sessions. Garonga guests are encouraged to indulge in activities that will allow them to walk close to the animals, and thereby enhance their wildlife experience.
Hambleden Suite

This exclusive, luxurious and secluded villa can accommodate two adults and two children in two separate bedrooms. There is an indoor and outdoor lounge (covered), a huge bathroom consisting of a beautiful hand beaten copper bath tub, separate indoor shower and outdoor shower, two basins and a toilet. It has its own swimming pool with deck and hammock. The suite has its own mini-bar, and is fully air conditioned.
Chiltern and Buckingham Suite

A beautiful and spacious suite featuring a private deck with hammock overlooking the natural bush landscape. The suite boasts a mini bar, air-conditioning, a full en-suite bathroom with an indulgent bath, indoor and outdoor showers.
Game Drives
Fulfill your safari dreams with twice daily game drives led by our experienced and knowledgeable guides. In addition to the Big 5 (elephant, leopard, rhino, buffalo and lion), look out for cheetah, spotted hyenas, wild dogs, hippos, crocodiles, diverse plains animals and colorful birdlife.
The Sleep Out Deck
Enjoy a night under the stars on our safari Sleep Out Deck, complete with four-poster bed and dining table for two. A 20-minute drive from the main camp, you will be fully immersed in your natural surrounds overlooking a waterhole that is known to attract a visitor or two.
Star Bath
Stargazing and a good bath are two of life’s greatest pleasures. These are combined in the Star Bath experience, best shared with your loved one. It’s the perfect end to a perfect day in the bush. This bath is semi-covered by a canopy and opens up to the night sky and bush ambience.
Walking Safaris
Stretch those legs and take a walking safari or ‘solitude walk’ with one of our experienced guides/trackers. Get that bit closer to nature and take the time to notice the beauty that lies in the detail of the surrounding bush. You also never know what you might bump into.
