Enveloped within 20 000 hectares (55 000 acres) of raw, untainted African bush lies the Chem Chem - Burunge Wildlife Management Area (WMA), with secluded, elegant tent-style accommodation at three locations: Chem Chem Lodge, Little Chem Chem and Forest Chem Chem. Each is designed to evoke the spirit, luxury and intimacy of a vintage safari experience.
Known as the 'sunrise camp', Little Chem Chem is situated on the edge of an acacia forest. Lying in a 16 000ha Wildlife Management Area adjacent to Tarangire National Park, the camp is surrounded by the characteristic landscape of the Tarangire River with its impressive Baobab trees and overlooks the freshwater lake, Lake Burunge. It offers an authentic vintage safari in an elegant, supremely comfortable tented camp, accommodating a maximum of 14 guests in a game-rich location. Little Chem Chem is all about getting as close to nature as possible, without sacrificing comfort.
This intimate camp offers six elegantly decorated vintage tents, each with a large bedroom (three have king-size beds, two offer twin beds), and 1 larger Family Tent. Each is complete with a rocking chair and study desk, a vanity area with dressing room and an en suite bathroom with a shower and flushing toilet. Embrace the ‘Out-of-Africa’ atmosphere and listen as the sounds of an African night come to life all around to you. The camp is solar powered and unfenced allowing for game to move freely through the area which features a main tent complete with a lounge, viewing areas and magnificent dining.
Luxury Vintage Tent | Double or Twin (5 rooms)
Known as the sunrise camp, Little Chem Chem lies on the eastern side of the concession. This intimate camp offers five elegantly decorated vintage tents, each with a large bedroom (three have king-size beds, two offer twin beds), with a rocking chair and study desk, a vanity area with dressing room and an en suite bathroom with a shower and flushing toilet.
Embracing an ‘Out-of-Africa’ atmosphere, each tent also offers a private fire pit with flames that seduce you as the sounds of an African night come to life all around to you.
Luxury Vintage Tent | Family (1 room)
A two-bedroom canvased family tent perfect for families of up to 2 adults and 3 children.Luxuriously fitted with a large king size bed in the main bedroom, while the children's room offers 2 twin beds. Each room has its own vanity area with dressing room, and en-suite shower and flushing toilet.

Explore the game-rich environment of the breathtaking Tarangire National Park from the comfort of an open 4x4.
To visit Tarangire, choose either a full- or half-day excursion which includes a picnic breakfast or lunch at a private site. Expect
vast elephant herds and huge baobabs.
Big Game & Wildlife Walking
One of the well-trained field guides will lead you in a quest to recognise and track animal spoor. You will literally follow in their footsteps – often taking you within 15 meters of these majestic animals. Hear them, see them, smell them.
School Trips & Cultural Tours
Visit one of the schools supported by the Chem Chem Association. Join in an impromptu soccer game with the children, share African songs and dance with them. You can even teach a math, geography or English lesson. Learn from them as they learn from you.
Family Safaris
Little Chem Chem welcomes children from 8 years old. The team will create unforgettable memories by learning bush skills from Maasai warriors: how to make a fire, use a bow and arrow, throw a spear. A visit to local schools and villages will expose them to different cultures. Children can build a recyclable soccer ball, follow wildlife tracks and decorate safari-themed cupcakes.
Little Chem Chem Dining
Wake to sunrise and fresh coffee with one of Little Chem Chem's renowned seed biscuits, enjoy breakfast with a view of the watering hole, savour lunch in the dappled shade of the trees and relax over dinner surrounded by the sounds of the Arican bush.
The evening can be as private as you like or more convivial with other guests. Feel the whisper of the evening breeze as you eat beneath the stars.
Sunrise Hill Climb
