Linyanti Ebony

The Linyanti Channel is fast becoming Botswana’s most sought-after wildlife haven. Nestled between the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park, Linyanti is a rich yet diverse ecosystem that is fed by a permanent river flow. At the core of this wildlife haven is Linyanti Ebony, this intimate camp is made up of just four tents with spectacular vistas of the surrounding wilderness. A unique place where you can embrace the “digital detox” and slip into the rhythm of an authentic and game-filled safari experience.

Bask in peaceful silence as you drift through the crystal-clear waterways in a mokoro (from ages 16 years+ at the guides discretion) and watch the birds and aquatic life. Enjoy this unique riverscape up close, explore the bush on foot or go on an enthralling day or night game drive. For something a little extraordinary, set out to the skies on a helicopter safari and take in the awe-inspiring waterways below.

For large groups or families travelling together, Linyanti Ebony can be booked exclusively with a minimum of 8 people and is open all year round. (ABC)

Walking Safaris
Awaken your senses and discover all that the bush has to offer on a walking safari. Accompanied by one of our experienced walking guides, explore the wild for one to two hours. For a full day walking safari, a private walking guide will need to be pre-booked with us. Children under 16 can experience nature walks around the camp led by our child-certified walking guides as part of the Cub Club. Since your safety is our first priority, walking safaris are usually conducted when the bush is not too thick.

Traditionally, the mokoro was the only form of transport through the waterways. Sail through the rivers and tributaries with our River Guides in a dugout canoe made from fibreglass, savouring those moments of peace, and encounter an incredible variety of wildlife along the way.

Scenic Flight
A half-hour scenic helicopter is included when you stay 3 nights or more at Linyanti Ebony from April to November. Experience the pristine wilderness from a birds-eye view.

Night Drives
The private concessions allow for game drives after the sun has set. Experience the bush when elusive nocturnal wildlife awakens to hunt, forage and explore the lands under the cover of darkness.

Bird Watching
Linyanti boasts some of Botswana’s best birding. Delight in spotting the Arnot’s chat, the Goliath heron or the majestic Long-crested eagle. Or simply sit back and enjoy their beautiful songs.

The Ngwana Club
From nature walks around camp and storytelling to cultural arts and crafts and cub club cooking classes, the African Bush Camps’ children focused Ngwana Club creates a fun and educational environment for children on safari.

Child Specialist Guides offer practical and educational activities for the kids and expeditions that will delight every generation. A family safari adventure with African Bush Camps is the trip of a lifetime that allows you to enjoy a hassle-free holiday in Africa that is as indulgent and relaxing for parents as it is exciting, educational and fun for children.

A day in the life of a family on safari is fluid, exciting, varied and full of special moments that will live on in family history for a lifetime. Our child specialist guides tailor their safaris to families for the duration of their stay, taking into consideration the age of the children and any special interests or requests, promoting a philosophy that embraces families in the wild.

Ngwana is the Setswana word for “explorer” and is the name of our family friendly program designed by each of our camps. Our Ngwana Club offers a variety of safari related activities for children of all ages.

African Bush Camps family properties offers a variety of different Ngwana Club activities such as:

Nature Walks
Children go on nature walks around camp with their guide and accompanied by a parent, where they are presented with fun and unique learning opportunities. Spoor identification, discovering the traditional uses of plants, bird watching and hunting for the ‘Little 5’ highlight the intangible experiences that they can’t get in the ‘real’ world. After a bush walk, children will be given a ‘Junior Guide’ certificate, which will encourage them to become our future conservationists with a passion for wildlife who will help us to protect our heritage.

Ngwana Club Cooking Classes
Eating well is a big part of a memorable safari experience and that includes a family feast. At Somalisa Acacia and Nyamatusi Mahogany there are wood fired pizza ovens. Children are invited to design their own pizzas with our chefs in camp, and families are encouraged to have a taste test competition. We also include a ‘make-your-own-mocktail’ station in the warmer months, providing both entertainment and a refreshing drink on a warm afternoon.

Traditional Story-Telling
Our child specialist guides enjoy sharing the history and folklore of the area and their people. Your child specialist guide will dress in authentic tribal regalia and perform a play, imparting their traditional history and legends, including an interactive drumming session.

Arts and Crafts/Beading
An arts and crafts corner is set up for children and is a place where they can let their creativity run wild after the stimulation and inspiration of their new surroundings takes hold. Here, children can thread beads to make a bracelet or necklace to take home as a memento of their time in the bush, as well as indulge in colouring in and picture painting.

*Please note that not all activities may be available in each camp. Please enquire.
