Kandili Camp

Kandili Camp is a traditional canvas safari camp, set within a private conservancy bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve. It offers a classic, understated safari experience, connected to the wild, comfortable and designed to feel at home in its surroundings.

The camp sits overlooking the Olololo Escarpment, with wide-reaching views across the plains of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Kandili Camp is located within the 200-hectare Leopard Gorge Conservancy, established to protect this unique landscape while allowing for a quieter, more personal safari experience. Guests enjoy access to exceptional wildlife viewing year-round, including big cat territory, without the crowds.

Just 20 minutes from the Musiara Gate, the camp offers the flexibility to explore the Mara Reserve while also enjoying activities exclusive to the conservancy, such as guided nature walks, sundowners and night game drives.

Kandili Camp has 11 classic safari tents, designed to combine timeless style, comfort, and a true connection to the wild. Each tent has a private verandah and an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet, hot and cold running water, and double sinks. Charging units are provided in every tent.

SUPERIOR TENTS 
Four beautifully appointed tents, available as double, twin, triple, or single. Perfect for couples or honeymooners, each tent provides extra space and comfort.

FAMILY UNIT 
Tents 1 and 2 are interconnected by a spacious lounge, with one double and one twin tent. Ideal for families who want both privacy and shared space.

The Great Migration
Witness the annual Great Migration, when over two million wildebeest and other plains game move across the Mara. Dramatic river crossings on the Mara River, close to Kandili Camp, offer unforgettable wildlife encounters — crocodiles included. Our guides can take you to the best vantage points, and sometimes the herds even cross right through our open camp, creating a rare and memorable experience.
