Grumeti Art Lodge

When the Laba laba team of Xavier and Julie discovered a spectacular site atop a hill in the western Serengeti, with breathtaking views and set well away from other lodges, they realized they could create something truly exceptional there. Welcome to Laba Laba Grumeti Art Lodge.

“At first, we weren’t quite sure what style to give this lodge, other than a strong, instinctive desire for a lodge standing like a fortress, overlooking this vast plain…” Grumeti Art Lodge was therefore designed like a stone fortress, with monumental carved doors, incorporating tented structures in order to preserve the spirit of traditional safaris so dear to the owners’ hearts…

Ultimately, they brought together 10 African artists and acquired 42 works, which are displayed throughout the lodge as a common thread, weaving through the main living spaces and the 12 tented suites.

The cuisine is deliciously organic and plentiful. At Grumeti Art Lodge, you can enjoy the pool, spa and only professional gym to be found in a Tanzanian reserve, featuring Technogym equipment for cardio and strength training, as well as Eleiko gear for cross-training. Before or after your safaris, you will be able to maintain your fitness or continue your training during your vacation. In keeping with this desire for harmony with nature, the space is open to the outdoors. (labalaba)

Humanitarian aid – Children with disabilities
Funding for the very first care center dedicated to children with disabilities in Iringa ( www.lebaoskidsfoundation.com ):
Medical care and physiotherapy
Parenting training aimed at strengthening bonds and interactions
This mission is essential in a country where these children too often remain without any support. Laba Laba currently covers 100% of the center's staff salaries. The long-term goal is to develop a network of similar centers in several Tanzanian regions as the organization grows and resources become available.
