Kasbah Bab Ourika
The Kasbah Bab Ourika resides in an exceptionally beautiful landscape in the Atlas Mountains, only 35 minutes from Marrakech s international airport. Perched on its hilltop, at the apex of the Ourika Valley, views sweep down to the river, green fields and groves of olives, oranges and lemons, and up to the dazzling snowy mountain peaks. W panoramic views, the Kasbah receives warm sunlight all day ending in spectacular sunsets. Guests can relax in individually decorated rooms with your own terraces or unwind by the secluded swimming pool. Above all the Kasbah offers peace and relaxation in spectacular surroundings, a memorable escape from the hustle of the western world.
Meals are served in the gardens or in the colonnaded restaurant or can be taken privately in the rooms or suites. The chef specializes in traditional Berber recipes as well as international cuisine. The Kasbah is one of the most eco-friendly buildings in Morocco. Constructed principally from Pise (rammed earth), the traditional Berber building easily with the rock and earth around it.
The kasbah has a total of 26 rooms, all of which are individually decorated and have stunning views of the Atlas, the National Park and the Valley. They have 15 rooms in the main Kasbah building and 12 rooms in the gardens including 2 pool suites. At the Kasbah’s entrance is a spacious sitting room with fireplace and film/reading corner, an open kitchen and sitting area with terrace next to the gardens. The sliding glass roof lets the fresh air in and ideal for star gazing in the warmer months. The black infinity pool reflects the mountains. Either side are two premium Pool Suites with breathtaking views and ensuite bathrooms. Looking out to the red National Park a Suite with ensuite bathroom, private terrace and a sitting room that can be used as a second bedroom (ideal for families). A further adjoining Superior room ensuite with views to the biologic gardens and the mountains. The Villa Retreat can be rented as a private accommodation with full use of the amenities of the hotel. It can also be rented on a room basis as part of the hotel. It has a Unique location, Breathtaking views and stylish interiors and is bathed by the sun all day round.

Hammam and Massage, The Arabs of The 7th century and later the Ottoman Turks, perfected the ancient art of the hammam, which to this day is referred to as The Silent Doctor for its health and wellness related properties. The hammam s steam bath helps one eliminates stress, toxins and impurities by sweating. The hammam is an intimate and inviting place that rids one of tension and daily worries, either alone or as a couple.
Berber Massage – A mix between relaxing and tonic. Available in the massage room off the hammam, your room or in the gardens.
Hammam - (usually lasts 20 minutes individual or 45 minutes for two people). You will receive a traditional Kessa body scrub, which will deeply cleanse. Next you will be wrapped in clay and rose essence which will moisturize your skin.
Berber Tea Experience - After a tour of the herb garden with our staff to collect mint and fresh herbs.
Camel Trekking - 2 hour trek from the Kasbah through the village of Timalizen and down to the river.
Horse Riding - We can arrange this at stables 25 minutes from the Kasbah. You will need a transfer to take you there and return.
Mountain Biking - A ½ day riding through the local villages with a guide.
Full Day National Parks - Explore the National Parks via the road to Igroufrouane passing through small villages with the option of a 1 hour trek. You can have a Picnic Lunch.
Nectarome Gardens – Half day trip to the gardens, then on the Village of Tafza to the Pottery manufacturing and the Berber Museum.
Setti Fatma & Waterfalls – Setti Fatma day trip and the Ourika Valley If you would like us to arrange a local trekking guide at Setti Fatma to walk you up to the water falls there is a supplement
Marrakech day trip - (45 minutes by car) Explore the Medina and enjoy the delights of the famous Main Square (Jemaa-el-Fna), the Souksand local monuments. If you would like us to arrange a national guide there is a supplement.
Hot Air Ballooning - We can arrange via 2 companies based in Marrakech. You will require a transfer to the collection point in Marrakech and to return to the Kasbah.
TREKS
The Kasbah can arrange a variety of Treks:
Trek 1 -Taourirte
2 hours duration - Starting from the Kasbah explore the Traditional Salt Productions at Taourirte. Visit the Village and then return to the Kasbah throughfields of olives, plums and vegetable gardens.
Trek 2 - Timalizen
2 hours duration - Walking south to the Village of Timalizen and then to Tamzenderte Village.Continue to the river and return to the Kasbah.
Trek 3- National Park
3/4 hours duration - A medium level of walk. You will go through Taourirte or Agadir Ntizi Villages and then into the National Park through hills and valleys.
Trek 4 -Takaterte
4/5 hours duration - This incorporates Trek 1 (2 hours) where you explore the Traditional Salt Productions at Taourirte. You will also visit the Bio Aromatic Gardenscalled Nectarome at Douar El Haddad and to the Safran Garden "Le Paradis du Safran".
Trek 5 - Monday Market
5 hours duration - This Trek incorporates Trek 4. You will also explore the local Berber Market ofTnine. It is a weekly Monday market.
Trek 6 - Berber Museum & Pottery
5 hours duration - Enjoy a nice walk to Tafza Village situated on the other side of the river. Visit the local Pottery and the Berber Museum (20 dh/person Entrance).
Trek 7 National Park & Tagadirte Village
5 hours duration – Medium level walk. East of the National Park to Tagadirte village where you will have tea ceremony at a Berber House and experience Berber Culture. Returning to the Kasbah via the Taourirte Salt Mines.
Trek 8 - Exploring Villages & The National Park
About 7 hours duration - High level of walk. Explore the several villages and their local way of life before entering into the National Park where you will discover the different types of trees, plants and wildlife.
