Ferox
Malpelo is Back!
After years of absence, Malpelo is once again open to individual divers starting January 2018. Be one of the first to dive at this UNESCO World Heritage site!
Malpelo Island is home to an astounding shark population such as scalloped hammerheads, silkies and many other shark species. Malpelo is a year-round destination only reachable by liveaboard.
The Ferox, one of the safest liveaboards on the planet, is sailing to this amazing destination starting January 2018. our twelve guests can rest assured that the FEROX will transport them safely.
The Ferox is an environmentally friendly boat, using biodiesel with low fuel consumption due to its size. In addition to this, it has a wastewater treatment system.
The Ferox rejects illegal fishing and to support this cause the fish provided aboard the Ferox are from sustainable species and are supplied by the community of local fishermen.
At 32 meters, the Ferox accommodates 12 passengers comfortably. Dine and lounge on the large sun or shadow deck with its large and well-equipped bar. All 8 cabins are extremely quiet and provide a good night’s rest. Rolling chocks on the hull make for a more comfortable ride and paravane stabilizers while being anchored provide a calmer experience.
Sleep well in two Double, two Twin or four Individual Cabins, each with individually controlled air conditioners, internal telephones and private or semi-private bathrooms. In all rooms you find portholes for natural light, comfortable beds with sheets of Egyptian thread and friendly personal care items. There is a trained staff for your 24 hour service.
Malpelo is considered one of the best shark diving destinations on the planet. Massive schools of hammerhead, and silky sharks are found here along with Galapagos, white tip, whale sharks, manta and eagle rays, free-swimming moray eels, as well as the reclusive small tooth sand tiger (ferox odontaspis).
