Itzama is the lodge’s full service, newly renovated restaurant and bar where guests dine on Mesoamerican cuisine. Using fresh seafood and locally grown herbs and vegetables, the chef recreates local Honduran specialties. The screened dining room overlooks tropical gardens allowing guests to enjoy the wonderful flavors of Central American cooking surrounded by the exotic sounds of the jungle. Private candlelight dining can be arranged on the open-air deck above the Corinto River.
After a day of adventure, check out the spa. In keeping with the pre-Hispanic Honduran healing culture and traditions, we use essential oils with aromas and specialized massage techniques. The combination of the sense of smell and touch melts away tension, relaxes you mentally and physically, reduces stress, and enhances the immune system benefiting vascular and lymphatic circulation.
From San Pedro Sula, guests take either a private van for the 2.5 hour drive to The Lodge or a 30-minute commuter flight to La Ceiba where free transfer is provided. There is also a ferry service from the Bay Islands to La Ceiba. The lodge is happy to help make in-country travel arrangements for its guests.
