Itza Resort
At Itza Resort you can explore the beautiful island of Long Caye and its surrounding enchanted waters. This is a laidback island resort with the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye, short boat rides away. The Main Lodge has 12 rustic, but comfortable, rooms, each with a ceiling fan, standing fan, private bath, and spectacular ocean views from your deck or balcony. Sky level rooms come with either king size beds for couples or a queen bed and twin for families. Beach level rooms allow for the easiest beach access. They each have a queen or king bed with private bathroom, ceiling fan, standing fan, ocean view deck with hammock and chairs. This room can accommodate a maximum of two guests. The Beach Level family rooms come with 2 queen size beds. The Sea Wing is more basic with 12 rooms, each with 2 twin beds, or one king bed upon request, built in desk, standing fan, and shared bath down the hall from the rooms.
Included in all packages are breakfast, lunch and dinner which are served on the spacious thatch-covered open-air deck with sweeping views of the Caribbean Ocean and nearby Half Moon Caye. The bar at Itza Resort is open during lunch, dinner, and beyond. The Bar is a full-service, open-air bar with a large selection of spirits & cocktails, international wines, and cold Belikin, the Beer of Belize.
Belize has the second largest Barrier Reef in the World and it is in a good condition. You can experience the western hemisphere's largest barrier reef and most pristine atoll. The dive/snorkel sites are all located within a few minutes boat ride from the island. This is the ideal location to choose from the best dive site given local weather conditions and for experiencing the Blue Hole, which is only a 15 - 20 minute boat ride away from Long Caye. You’ll be the first diver/ snorkeler in the Blue Hole in the morning. Paddle boarding and kayaking are always complementary when staying at Itza Lodge. Have the lodge pack and picnic lunch then venture out to your own little spot of paradise. You may also grab a cruiser bike to explore the island. The lodge has many board games for nighttime activities.
Transportation to Long Caye is on Wednesdays and Saturdays only. The island is 50 miles offshore from Belize City. You will depart from the Princess Marina in Belize City at 2:00 pm on the day of your reservation. Travel time on the boat from the Princess Hotel and Casino Marina is generally 1 1/4 – 2 hours, depending upon the number of passengers and weather conditions. You may hang out at Calypso restaurant, located at Princess Marina which is a full-service restaurant and bar with free wifi. On the day of your departure from Long Caye, your boat back to Belize City leaves at 8:00 am, which allows time for you to catch your afternoon flight.
