Embark on this thrilling safari 9-Day adventure through Kenya, from the vibrant city of Nairobi to the wild landscapes of Ol Pejeta, Masai Mara, and Naboisho. From Nairobi, head to Ol Pejeta, a wildlife sanctuary basking in the shadows of Mount Kenya, where you can visit the last two Northern White Rhinos. Enjoy game drives, night safaris, walking safaris, horse riding with rhinos, learning to track lions, and visiting the canine anti-poaching unit.
Travel to the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa's most famous safari destinations. Stay at Rekero Camp, located on the banks of the Talek River, to witness the spectacular wildebeest migration and spot lions, leopards, elephants, and giraffes. The camp offers spacious tents with en suite bathrooms, private verandas, and stunning views.
End your travels at Naboisho Camp, a newly renovated luxury camp in the Naboisho Conservancy, a private reserve bordering the Masai Mara. Savour a more exclusive and intimate safari experience here. The camp has nine elegant tents with king-size or twin beds, indoor and outdoor showers, flushing toilets and solar power. Engage in day and night safaris, walking safaris, and cultural visits to the local Maasai community.
Day 1: Arrive Nairobi
You will be welcomed off your flight at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to your Nairobi area hotel for your overnight stay before getting out and about on your safari excursions. Take this opportunity to relax, recoup and recover from your flight. If you are feeling adventurous, we can arrange a visit to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Centre. The city offers abundant nightlife and numerous excellent international and Kenyan-style restaurants.
Two airports service the city, one of which is Wilson Airport, which you will use for most of your internal light aircraft flights. These airports are situated 20 km (12 miles) apart, and transfers can last between 20 minutes and an hour, depending on prevailing traffic.
Days 2+3: Laikipia / Mt Kenya
Overnight at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp
After a restful sleep and a delicious breakfast, your guide will drive for approximately five hours through flower farms and vibrant market towns. A delightful lunch will await you once you reach the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the central Laikipia region. The dramatic and iconic snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya overlook this magnificent wildlife conservancy.
At Ol Pejeta Bush Camp, you can enjoy game drives in search of lion, buffalo, elephant, white rhino, and black rhino, and night drives add a whole new layer of excitement to your adventures. You will also visit the enclosure for endangered species and meet the world's last two remaining Northern White rhinos. The rangers will brief you on the remarkable work being done to save the species from extinction and protect other species here. A cultural visit to explore and learn about the diverse cultures and traditions of the people of this region is an essential experience.
Ol Pejeta has seven tents, one of which is designed for families. All tents have an en suite bathroom, flushing toilets and hot running water. After an exciting day’s adventure, as the evening approaches, you can join us all around the fireplace and relax with a glass of wine while listening to the lions in the conservancy roar into the distance.
Days 4 + 5: Masai Mara
After a delightful breakfast, you are transferred to the local airstrip for a flight to Rekero Camp in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Once you arrive, your driver will take you to Rekero Camp, perched above the Talek River, offering stunning vistas of a prime Great Migration crossing point. The boutique camp is also ideally located to enjoy the Masai Mara’s diverse wildlife year-round. It comprises nine classic and spacious safari tents overlooking the river. Each tent offers an en suite bathroom, flushing toilet, and hot-water shower.
During the day, you can laze on the daybed on your private veranda, watching the zebras stroll along the riverbank. Twice-daily game drives are available, with an in-camp or a picnic breakfast to savor in the bush. To add variety to your experiences, an early morning hot-air balloon can be arranged at an additional cost. Witnessing the breathtaking wildlife from above is an unforgettable adventure.
Relish in a siesta after lunch, read a book, relax, and soak in the views from your tent or the camp's decks. Later, refuel with afternoon tea and cake before departing for the exciting evening expedition accompanied by a selection of favorite onboard sundowners. Upon returning, unwind around the campfire for pre-dinner drinks and a delicious meal.
Days 7 + 8: Naboisho
Wake up to the soundscape of birds and the talkative snorts, barks and brays of the neighborhood zebras. If time allows, enjoy a final safari before savoring a delicious and generous breakfast on the decks overlooking the Mara River.
Once you are packed and have said your fond farewells to the warm and caring team, a game drive transfer will take you to Naboisho Camp in the private Mara Naboisho Conservancy adjacent to the Masai Mara National Reserve.
A luxurious boutique camp refurbished in 2023, Naboisho offers nine spacious and stylish tents featuring king-size or twin beds, large en suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor hot showers and flushing toilets. All tents feature a private veranda from which you can relax, enjoy hot beverages early in the morning, and soak in the tranquil Savannah views. It is a beautiful camp environment for avid wildlife enthusiasts. Along with cheetah, elephant, and giraffe, the area has one of Africa's highest concentrations of lions. Being in a private conservancy, this Kenyan safari adventure offers walking and night safaris and exciting nights out fly camping under the stars. Authentic and enlightening visits to the local communities are also offered.
Day 9: Onward travels
After a final delectable breakfast, game drive to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, where your driver and vehicle will transfer you to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
