Tip to Tail Serengeti

10-Days (Dec-May)
Toto Time - It is an extraordinary period when the southern Serengeti and the wider plains come alive with new life. Watching wobbly, newborn foals and calves take their first steps, while predators silently calculate their opportunities, offers a completely different, deeply emotional dimension to a safari. You aren't just watching a migration; you are witnessing the very beginning of the cycle. Linger longer; you’ll love it.

Serengeti South
Serian’s Serengeti is a mobile camp, and from mid-December to May, is set up on the southernmost extreme of the Serengeti’s short grass plains: prime position to spectate the wildebeest birthing season. Dramatic savannah storms sweep in nourishment and new life, and an innate primordial urge pulls the wildebeest to the site of their origins to reproduce. The plains literally come to life for the birthing season.

Millions of gnus and zebra dominate the landscape, looking for the fresh green grass that follows the first rains – and to give birth to their young. Birthing season aside, the camp has access to a million acres of a stunning acacia-dotted conservation area – an incredible environment for exploring.

Just south of camp is Lake Eyasi: home to Hadzabe and Ndorobo guides, who have centuries of bush craft at their fingertips. Being among these people and their ways is one of the best things about this spot: they can open your eyes to the secrets of this beautiful space.

Adventure Fly Camp
First off, a disclaimer: fly-camping has nothing to do with flying. Rather, it takes its name from sleeping in the bush under nothing more than a flysheet, as was the camping tradition before the luxury-laden era of ‘glamping’ arrived.

The premise is that you spend the days walking, and the nights sleeping out in lightweight tents, in a makeshift camp that moves at will – the end of each day’s walk brings you to your new site for the night, and creature comforts await: cozy beds, warm bucket showers, and a hearty meal around the campfire as you gaze up at the stars.

Serian's Serengeti Lamai
The open plains of the Lamai Wedge are uncommonly beautiful and abundant in big game. The landscape is reminiscent of scenes from "Out of Africa" and there is plenty of freedom to roam and explore.

The camp is situated above the prolific Crossing Point No.4, midway along the Mara River –  perfectly positioned to witness the drama of the wildebeest river crossings (Jun - Nov).

Outside of the migration season the Lamai Wedge is home to vast resident herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra and topi and abundant big cats the "Lions of Lamai".... A year round destination for those seeking a quiet refuge with plentiful wildlife.
