Day 1: Meet the boat and your amazing crew at the marina, head straight out to the islands off Stone Town and snorkel off Bawe Island. After lunch travel to Changu/Prison island to see the incredible Aldabra Tortoises; and the old prison. Then head to Grave island for sundowners and watch the flying foxes in their thousands migrating at sunset, it’s an amazing site.
Day 2: Hoist the anchor after a wake up swim, yoga or relaxed time on deck followed by breakfast and head southwest to Boribu Reef away from it all, between mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. Enjoy the excellent snorkeling and diving during the day, before heading west back to Chumbe and/or Kwale/other smaller islands off Ungunja for the night.
Day 3: Morning activity followed by breakfast, hoist the anchor, explore Chumbe island and its rich reefs, or spend time snorkeling the other islands and exploring sandbars away from the crowds. Spend the night off one of the southern islands and just be at peace among them, their reefs and sandbars with fabulous sunsets and sunrises.
Day 4: Early morning start to fully appreciate the last morning and enjoy a breakfast en route to the marina with views of Stone Town from the boat. Arrive at the marina before lunch for your onward travel. *There is also the option to fish and explore the southern tip and southern islands of Zanzibar from Kizimkazi known for its pelagic fish. Or better still, book for longer i.e. 6 nights/7 days get to explore the western shores of Pemba island or longer to sail from Zanzibar to Magical Mafia via Latham island.
Accommodation: We are delighted to have 4 fabulous catamarans available for the Spice Island experience, from a 45ft to a 60ft Catamaran. It is advised for larger groups to combine boats that can work together to ensure better comfort, great agility and more fun. We also highly recommend a support boat for any group over and above 6 pax, particularly if they are active, divers and love fishing.
