Venturing east to west across The Gambia, we’ll explore hidden gems and authentic experiences off the well-trodden path, immersing ourselves in the soul of West Africa.

The Trip:
Embark on a journey through Senegal and The Gambia like no other,  from the bustling, artistic heartbeat of Dakar to the hidden villages of the Bassari lands. This unique itinerary weaves together diverse experiences, guiding us from the sacred city of Touba, heart of the powerful Marabout brotherhood, to the vibrant culture of animist tribes in the south.

Traveling through vast savannas, winding estuaries, and lush mangrove forests, we’ll meet shepherds and venture into remote villages where time seems to stand still. Our path leads us to ancient monolithic sites, bearing witness to centuries-old mysteries that echo through the land. In the southeast, the Bassari and Bedik communities offer a rare opportunity to experience a vibrant cultural heritage; the Bassari region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reveals layers of tradition that come alive in each encounter.

The adventure continues as we cross The Gambia from east to west, exploring its lesser-known yet deeply authentic areas. Finally, the journey concludes with a touch of tropical beauty on the beaches of Banjul, a fitting end to an exploration of West Africa’s heart and soul.
