Scenic Rim Trail
Hike along the Great Dividing Range, through World Heritage Listed Gondwana Rainforest and see native fauna and flora in all its glory. Experience awe inspiring views as you traverse the Scenic Rim, and all within one and a half hours of Brisbane. This unique adventure begins in the foothills of South East Queensland’s Main Range National Park, famous for its stunning collection of peaks, ridges, forests and ancient volcanic plateaus. Experienced guides will lead you through a region of more than 30,000 hectares of parkland, state forests and national parks. Combined with Spicers Peak Station, a 2,000 hectare private nature refuge, you’ll enjoy an opportunity to explore the Australian bushland. If you are new to multi-day hiking or are short on time, the two and three-day hikes are ideal.
Day 1: Spicers Trailhead to Spicers Canopy Camp - Meet & Greet start your hike! Enjoy stunning views as you ascend the range between Mount Mitchell and Spicers Peak Lodge . Cross into the Nature Refuge and learn about conservation initiatives. Arrive into camp for afternoon tea and a soak in the hot tub.
Day 2: Spicers Canopy to Spicers Peak Lodge - After breakfast, cross over Karrjong Rice and head uphill beside Freestone Creek. Ascend Cedar Mountain to Spicers Peak Lodge where refreshments will be served. Return to Spicers Canopy for drinks, dinner and snooze time.
Day 3: (optional & recommended!) Enjoy a guided walk along Millvale Creek. Learn about indigenous Bush craft, food and medicine. Chef prepared dinner fireside stargazing.
