Days 1 & 2: Samburu fun at Sasaab
Once you have arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by a member of our team who will accompany you on the short journey to Wilson Airport for your one-hour flight to Samburu. On arrival at a Samburu airstrip, you will meet your guide before heading to the lodge for a delicious lunch.
A safari holiday in Samburu is full of opportunities for adventure and there is so much to see and do at Sasaab. Explore the wildlife of Westgate Community Conservancy by vehicle, foot, quad bike or camel. Learn about local Samburu traditions through authentic cultural interactions and our exhibition spaces. Those up for a real adventure might like to pre-book a night of fly camping to sleep under the stars in the wilderness. Guests who prefer to relax can take full advantage of beautiful spa rooms and swimming pools.
Days 3 & 4: See black and white rhino + more at Solio
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Sasaab airstrip where your 20 minute private charter flight to Solio awaits. As you head out each morning, you will quickly realize that Solio is extraordinary. Not only is it home to large numbers of black and white rhino, but it is also the only lodge on the Conservancy. This exclusivity, along with the large numbers of plains game, lion, leopard and buffalo, make game spotting an incredibly relaxing and rewarding experience. Afternoons at Solio Lodge can be spent walking, riding and cycling across Solio Ranch, or relaxing in the traditional wood-fired sauna. Don’t miss a visit to the nearby rhino orphanage to interact with rescued baby rhinos from the sanctuary.
Day 5: Close Encounters at Giraffe Manor
After breakfast you will fly back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, where you’ll be met and taken to the elegant Giraffe Manor for lunch.
No safari holiday in Kenya is truly complete without staying at the iconic Giraffe Manor. This historical house is home to a herd of endangered Nubian Giraffe that frequently visit in search of treats. Guests can enjoy feeding these charming animals from our large veranda at teatime, as well as some of the bedroom windows and balconies at dawn and not forgetting over the breakfast table – an experience unlike any other!* When not enjoying close encounters with our gentle giants, pop next door to The Retreat for a pampering wellness experience. *The giraffe at Giraffe Manor are wild and therefore we cannot guarantee interaction with them at any given time.
Day 6: Breakfast with giraffes at The Retreat at Giraffe Manor
When you’re ready, take a short stroll across the lawn to The Retreat at Giraffe Manor. As your Kenya safari holiday draws to a close, end on a high by sharing an unforgettable breakfast with the world’s tallest animal. After check-out, head next door to The Retreat at Giraffe Manor for a day of relaxation. Facilities include spa rooms and gym, hot tub, sauna and steam room and a stunning infinity pool overlooking the giraffe sanctuary. Unwind in your day room suite with all-inclusive homegrown food and drinks.
