Kenya’s Great North - Active Adventure (7 days)

Days 1 - 3: Catch your flight to Kalama airstrip. Adventure awaits....
Your Kitich guide will meet you with a warm welcome and a refreshing drink. Buckle up for the 3-hour drive through the rugged lowlands, watching the landscape transform from arid plains to the lush forest.

Arrive at camp in the afternoon. After settling in, enjoy a cup of tea and stretch your legs with a short, guided walk through this magical forest.

The following day is yours to explore this captivating ecosystem. Walk among ancient cycads, and elephant trails. Keep your binoculars handy – the birdlife here is simply spectacular! Cool off with a refreshing dip in crystal-clear forest pools, or try your hand at fly-fishing in the Ngeng river.

Overnight Kitich Forest Camp - 2 Nights

Day 3: Matthews - Lugga
Start early, before the heat of the day, hike from camp up the Misii valley and on to the star pools. Stop for a picnic breakfast with a view.

Carry on down to the lugga campsite. Arriving in time for a late lunch, and a well earned siesta.

Hot bucket showers to help you recover.. Roughly 18km walk

Day 4: Another early start. Samburu
At 6 am set off on foot, witnessing the magic of a Samburu morning. Watch as bomas (traditional homesteads) come to life and herders guide their cattle out to pasture – a glimpse into a way of life unchanged for centuries.

Setting off up the picturesque Ngare Narok valley. With your trusty trail donkeys and our experienced local guides. Stop for breakfast – perched above a stunning waterfall.

The day's walk will take you through ever-changing ecosystems. From croton shrubs to cedars and ancient cycads. Cross open clearings and clamber over rocky outcrops offering breathtaking vistas of the Mathews Forest below.

Descend through pristine primary forest before reaching a viewpoint of the dramatic eastern escarpment. Enjoy a well-earned lunch as our team prepares your home for the night.

Explore the rocky outcrops and incredible views overlooking the escarpment. Enjoy sundowners and a delicious dinner under a canopy of stars. Share the day's adventures around a crackling campfire before drifting off to sleep, lulled by the night sounds of the forest.

Day 5: Elephants of Reteti
Greet the new day with another early start. Set off pre-dawn, watching the world come alive as you descend.

After covering about 5km of varied terrain, you will reunite with your car, stop for breakfast in a shady spot.

Then, it's off to the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary for their midday viewing – a heart-warming encounter with these gentle giants and the dedicated team working to protect them.

Days 5 - 7: Saruni Rhinos
The Saruni Rhino car will meet you at Sereolipi and transfer you to the vast Sera Conservancy, your new home for the next three nights.

Sera offers 839,000 acres of pristine wilderness to explore. It's home to East Africa's first community-run black rhino sanctuary, offering a unique chance to track these critically endangered animals on foot. For a truly authentic cultural experience, don't miss the Samburu singing wells. Watch as warriors descend into hand-dug wells, passing water up the human chain while singing traditional songs a mesmerizing glimpse into Samburu heritage.

Overnight Saruni Rhino - 2 Nights

Day 7: Onwards
After breakfast, road transfer to Kalama airstrip and fly back to Nairobi.
