DAY 1 · THE SOUTHERN DEPARTURE ADELAIDE → ONBOARD THE GHAN
Your journey begins where the rails do. Board The Ghan in Adelaide and settle into your Gold Premium cabin as the city slips behind you and the south opens up. This evening, step off at Long Plains for a dinner beneath the stars in a celebrated South Australian wine region — local produce, fine wine, and the first glittering taste of the adventure ahead. Return to the train as the country turns to night.
DAY 2 · ANCIENT COUNTRY. THE FLINDERS RANGES
Wake to changing landscapes as The Ghan reaches the gateway to the outback. Spend the day among the Flinders Ranges — rugged ridgelines and dramatic gorges, a landscape sculpted over millions of years. Rejoin the train for dinner and a relaxed evening, the rhythm of the rails carrying you deeper into the heart of the continent.
DAY 3 · RED EARTH RISING MARLA → ALICE SPRINGS
Greet the day with a spectacular outback sunrise at Marla, where the red earth glows beside a warming fire. By afternoon you'll reach Alice Springs — the legendary heart of the country, rich in Aboriginal culture and pioneering history. Explore your way, then return to the comfort of the train for one final night aboard.
DAY 4 · INTO THE TROPICS KATHERINE → DARWIN
Your last morning aboard begins in the tropical north. Cruise the timeless gorges of Katherine and hear the stories of its Country before the train continues its final stretch. By late afternoon, The Ghan arrives in Darwin — a continent crossed, and the wildest part still to come. Settle into your waterfront apartment, then mark the moment with dinner at the Oyster Bar.
DAY 5 · HARBOUR & HORIZON DARWIN
A full day to slow down and settle into the Top End — unhurried and entirely yours. Begin with breakfast over the water, then a long, lazy lunch at Chow. As the light softens, step aboard a private sunset harbour cruise — three hours on the water, dinner served and a drink in hand, as Darwin's coastline turns to gold. A leisurely final morning in Darwin and an easy lunch at Snapper Rocks, then the journey changes key. This afternoon, a private transfer to the airport, where you board your aircraft — a passage reserved for Berkeley guests alone — and lift across the Timor Sea toward the end of the map. You'll touch down on a remote red-dirt airstrip, where our team waits with big smiles and a chilled glass of Champagne. The Kimberley has been waiting for you. Tonight, you arrive at the edge of the world. 
DAY 6 · CROSSING THE TIMOR SEA DARWIN → BERKELEY RIVER LODGE BERKELEY RIVER LODGE, KIMBERLEY COAST
DAY 7 · THE RIVER
Begin with gentle morning movement as the sun rises over the Timor Sea. Then, the lodge's signature experience: the Berkeley River Cruise, a half-day journey deep into towering sandstone gorges, past hidden waterfalls and basking crocodiles, with a gourmet lunch aboard. Return in the golden light of afternoon to an evening of extraordinary dining beneath the stars. 
DAY 8 · STONE & STORY
A day of country and culture. Set out on the Rock Art & Waterholes Hike to stand before Aboriginal art etched over tens of thousands of years, then cool off in a secluded plunge pool - or trade the trail for a rugged 4WD safari to hidden waterholes and rolling savannah. As the day softens, gather for sundowners and another evening of reimagined Kimberley dining. For some it's the thrill of the catch; for others, the serenity of the water. A guided fishing adventure ventures into some of Australia's most abundant waters, the day's catch prepared by our chefs on your return. Later, a beach drive to the perfect vantage point as the sky ignites in Kimberley color.
DAY 9 · WATER & WILD
DAY 10 · THE LAST LIGHT
Your final full day, yours to savor. Linger over a long lunch, surrender to a signature spa ritual, forage native botanicals in the Bush Essential Oils workshop, or simply do nothing at all beside the pool above the coast. Tonight, a barefoot gourmet barbecue beneath the Kimberley stars — a fitting farewell to a journey unlike any other.
DAY 11 · BERKELEY RIVER LODGE → DARWIN
After a final Kimberley morning, your private flight lifts from the airstrip and returns you to Darwin. From here, the way onward is yours to choose — but you'll leave with a continent crossed, a wilderness discovered, and a story already worth telling.
