Day 3: Melbourne
After you clear Immigration and Customs, collect your luggage and meet your driver for your transfer to your hotel where you will spend the next four nights. The remainder of your day is at your leisure.
Day 4: Melbourne (L)
Join this indulgent morning walk through Melbourne's beautiful back streets and get orientated in the life of the city that locals love. Discover artisan and specialty retailers, and see quirky cafes, independent designers, street art, architecture and learn of historic tales in these walkways. Soak in the city via all your senses and engage with passionate creatives. There is something for everyone. Lunch is included. Get orientated and return to those places you like best in the afternoon, at your leisure.
Day 5: Melbourne (L)
Victoria’s Great Ocean Road is an amazing experience at any time of the year. One of the most beautiful coastal drives in the world, the Great Ocean Road stretches 150-miles along the southern coast of Victoria. Travel it and you will discover some of the world’s most inspiring scenery, an ever-changing hinterland and charming towns and hamlets. Marvel at the huge cliffs, roaring seas, tranquil coves, magnificent waterfalls, and secluded beaches. Highlights of your private include The Twelve Apostles and the Shipwreck Coast, Split Lighthouse, Great Otway, and Port Campbell National Parks. A cafe-style lunch is included. Upgrade options available include the chance to board a light aircraft and fly high above the Great Ocean Road to take in an aerial view of the landscape.
Day 6: Melbourne
Today is free to explore Melbourne at your leisure. Talk to our Destination Experts about adding other touring options to your vacation. See the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, discover the Mornington Peninsula or visit one of the many museums in the city. Be sure to experience the Melbourne restaurant scene.
Day 7: Melbourne - Cairns
Transfer to Melbourne Airport for your flight to Cairns. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for a 4-night stay. The remainder of your day is free to relax and explore the city at your leisure.
Day 8: Cairns
Board the Kuranda Scenic Railway to commence a full day Grand Kuranda tour. Travel by train to the picturesque village of Kuranda winding through 15 hand cut tunnels and past spectacular waterfalls. On arrival at Kuranda, visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary. Then transfer to the Rainforestation Nature Park for lunch, performance by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dance Troupe and the Dreamtime Walk including boomerang throwing, spear throwing and didgeridoo playing. Tour through the rainforest in an amphibious Army Duck and visit the Tropical Fruit Orchard. Visit the Koala and Wildlife Park to have your photo taken cuddling a koala or holding a small crocodile (at own expense). Board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and glide above the rainforest canopy to the Smithfield Terminal with stops along the way at Red Peak Station and Barron Falls Station
Day 9: Cairns (L)
Enjoy a catamaran cruise from Cairns for a full-day adventure exploring two remarkable snorkel and dive sites on the Great Barrier Reef. Travel in style on a fast and comfortable catamaran to the outer edge of Upolu Reef. Dive into the pristine marine world with an Adventure Snorkel & Glass Bottom Boat Tour, taking you through protected no-fishing zones within the Marine Park. Explore the building with your knowledgeable guide, learn about how Jorn Utzon’s vision came into existence against impossible odds, and capture photographs from rare vantage points, off limits to the general public.
